Europe’s Eastern flank is central to the security of the entire European Union.

In Warsaw, the EPP Group brought together political leaders, defence experts and representatives from Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia and Poland to discuss how Europe can strengthen deterrence, defence capabilities and strategic resilience.

The discussions focused on how to:

🔵 strengthen Europe’s defence readiness and invest in the capabilities needed to deter threats.
🔵 use EU instruments and funding, including SAFE, to support Europe’s defence industry and security.
🔵 reinforce the resilience of countries on Europe’s Eastern flank and support Ukraine.
🔵 strengthen cooperation with our Eastern partners and use EU enlargement as a strategic tool for stability and security.
🔵 learn from Poland’s experience in protecting Europe’s Eastern border and responding to Russia’s aggression.

The message from Warsaw is clear: Europe cannot afford to be complacent about its security.

A stronger Eastern flank means a stronger Europe. We must have the political will, resources and capabilities to defend our security, our borders and our freedom.
