I have always tried to use EU summits with other regions as an opportunity for bilateral meetings with representatives of countries we do not often have the chance to speak with. The same applies to today’s EU–African Union summit. I met, among others, with the Presidents of Mauritania and Ethiopia, as well as the Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire. Ethiopia lent us the fossils of Lucy and Selam, which were on display this year at the National Museum in Prague. Côte d’Ivoire recently purchased 400 Iveco buses manufactured in the Czech Republic. Both projects were successfully negotiated during my visits to these countries in 2023. In Mauritania, we also have a training mission where our armed forces are helping to train local special forces.Kopírovat text
