I’m heading to Angola for the EU–African Union summit. The main topics of the summit will be security and prosperity. It is in the interest of both the Union and the Czech Republic to deepen mutually beneficial partnerships, which strengthen our security and open up new opportunities for Czech investment and exports. An important pillar of our partnership with Africa must also be enhanced cooperation in tackling illegal migration, including the return of those residing illegally in the EU, combating people smuggling, and other related areas. Cooperation with African countries is also crucial for securing strategic supplies of raw materials needed for Europe’s technological development. Two years ago, I visited several African countries and supported Czech exporters. This time, too, I have a series of bilateral meetings with African leaders scheduled. I believe they will bring real benefits for the future of the Czech Republic.Kopírovat text
