We are successfully continuing our work to build a strong coalition of countries against illegal migration. Today, together with leaders from the United Kingdom, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Romania, and Portugal, I issued a declaration on cooperation in the fight against illegal migration. There is clear agreement among us on the need to take firm action against migrant smugglers, to cooperate on innovations in border protection, and to ensure swift and effective deportations of those who enter Europe illegally. The Czech Republic has long advocated a significant tightening of the EU’s migration policy. We are succeeding in gaining the support of an ever-growing number of states as well as the European Commission. Thanks to our efforts, Europe now clearly understands that it must consistently protect its external borders and combat illegal migration.Kopírovat text
