On International Human Rights Day, I traditionally met with journalists and civic activists from Russia, Belarus, and Myanmar-countries where freedom cannot be taken for granted. In doing so, I followed the legacy of the “Mitterrand Breakfast” of 1988, when the French President, during his visit to Prague, did not hesitate to support the Czechoslovak democratic opposition. 🤝 Freedom and democracy must be defended continuously, our own history obliges us to do so.Kopírovat text
