I had the honor to congratulate Ukrainian journalist Maksym Butkevych, this year’s laureate of the Václav Havel Human Rights Prize. From a prisoner tortured in Russia, he has become a symbol of freedom, courage, and hope. His journey from pacifism to defending 🇺🇦 shows that freedom must be actively defended – Putin’s evil will not stop on its own.
