Support for local vaccine manufacturing strengthens global resilience and European security. That is why this is a key priority of the Global Gateway strategy, through which we have already invested more than €1.9 billion in vaccine and medicine production in Africa. At the Global Gateway Forum, we took these efforts further, announcing €190 million in new support to expand local production capacity and ensure fair access to safe, effective, and affordable health products. What this means in practice: 👉 Guaranteed market demand so African manufacturers can produce vaccines, medicines, diagnostics, and medical devices at scale. 👉 Support for a facility in Kigali, Rwanda, enabling mRNA vaccine manufacturing on the continent. 👉 Development of local expertise, reduced dependency on imports, and more affordable access to lifesaving health products.Kopírovat text
