Hello from Prague! 🇨🇿 As you probably noticed, my September turned out to be one big mission. And I am really excited about all the work I could do to promote Europe, our companies, development cooperation and Global Gateway, but - and let me stress that - none of it would be possible without my team. Each member of my cabinet was involved in at least one of these missions. So let me thank you, dear colleagues, for all the great support. 🇸🇮 With @GenorioHana, we started the September at the beautiful Bled and the Strategic Forum. This mission was about promoting Global Gateway to international audience, but also bilateral meetings with Croatia PM Plenkovic and representatives of Slovenian government to develop Team Slovenia and help facilitate Slovenian private sector opportunities offered by Global Gateway. 🇫🇯🇻🇺🇵🇬 Pacific. The longest mission of my life with Nati Lorenzo. We strengthened our cooperation with this strategic region on the first-ever EU–Pacific Business Forum and announced the largest EU package with the region: €300 million for clean energy, digital technologies, ports. All this with strong emphasis on sustainability and resilience in this beautiful, but very fragile region. 🇳🇦 The very intensive mission to Namibia showed two things: 1) The strength of Team Europe as this was my first my first mission MEPs, 2) The potential of EU-Namibia cooperation to create benefits both for Namibia and EU in the innovative and sustainable hydrogen industry. Thank you, @VeronikaSmolkova and @Rolandps, for making this mission possible. 🇺🇳🇺🇸 From Namibia I moved directly to my first United Nations General Assembly in New York, another challenging mission organized by @espiritosanto_p and @Melngaile, two more members of my team. It was the 80th UN anniversary, EU has been its main partner and we see the ireplaceable importance of the UN as well as the potential to make the UN more effective and impactful through necessary reforms. 🇨🇷 Last mission in Costa Rica with Ricardo Rossi in charge. Together with President Chaves, we announced the historic decision of Costa Rica to - with EU support - build a modern electric passenger train for San José area. With @EIB loan, Costa Rica will be able to get 51 km of double-track lines, 28 new electric trains, 30 stations and provide better transport for up to 3 million passangers per year. Big thanks belongs also to @VojtechSrnka who prepared communication for all these missions and was always ready to support me. Just as crucial was the support of the part of my team stationed in Brussels with @LucieSestakova and Klára Častová always prepared to help with whatever issue we had along the way.Kopírovat text
