🔹 MAV+ Initiative - Building Africa’s resilience Africa still imports 99% of its vaccines and 94% of its medicines. Together with our African partners, we are changing that. Through MAV+, we are supporting local pharmaceutical production, strengthening supply chains, and promoting skills training and health innovation. 🔹 Clean energy in Mauritania Mauritania was the first destination of my mandate - a strategic partner with which we are delivering key projects together. These include the construction of a 225 kV transmission line and solar-powered rural electrification to expand energy access. 🔹 HyIron plant in Namibia - Africa’s first green iron facility With our partners, we are supporting Africa’s first green iron plant powered by renewable hydrogen. The project will cut 3.6 million tonnes of CO₂ annually, create thousands of jobs, and help Europe secure clean iron. A real Global Gateway success that I look forward to visiting in September. 🔹 Lobito Corridor - Boosting trade, supporting training At the Angola–France Economic Forum in Paris, I supported the Lobito Corridor project alongside President João Lourenço. We launched an initiative to deliver education and vocational training in Angola, aligned with the corridor’s development, and to strengthen value chains - boosting local jobs and long-term growth. 🔹 Nachtigal Hydropower - Powering millions, cutting emissions In Cameroon, the Nachtigal hydropower project will supply clean electricity to 10 million people - about 1/3 of the population - while reducing CO₂ emissions.Kopírovat text
