Development cooperation is essential for global stability, prosperity, and shared resilience. However, its financing is under pressure. Global Gateway is our 🇪🇺 strategic response to strengthen international development cooperation. Without it, we risk greater instability, conflict, and migration. 2️⃣ Financing of development cooperation is under pressure It faces growing demands amid limited public resources, rising geopolitical tensions, and complex global risks. To meet these challenges, we must mobilise additional financing - especially private capital - and make development policies more effective and impactful. 3️⃣ Our 🇪🇺 Global Gateway is a response to these challenges Global Gateway is the EU’s strategic answer to today’s development needs. It focuses on co-investment with partner countries, delivering high-impact sustainable infrastructure through innovative financial tools that leverage both public and private resources. It helps close investment gaps and builds strategic, long-term partnerships. 4️⃣ With Global Gateway we create benefits both for Europe and our partners It is built on transparency, mutual benefit, and a human-centred approach.
