How do we create the right conditions for the private sector to join our development efforts? That’s what we discussed today with @EIB President Nadia Calviño, senior leaders from @DFCgov, and representatives of the private sector. Here are the key take-aways: 🔵 Transatlantic unity delivers. The mutual EU–US development efforts have been very succesful in strengthening international stability and delivered benefits on both sides of the Atlantic. Maintaining this cooperation is essential. 🔵 Business involvement is indispensable. Geopolitical shocks, climate extremes and fragile supply chains threaten company bottom lines as much as humanitarian goals. Mobilising private capital is therefore critical if we are to meet today’s global challenges at the necessary speed and scale. 🔵 Creating investable conditions is crucial. Through Team Europe - the European Commission, Member States, the EIB and the EBRD - our Global Gateway strategy blends grants, guarantees and policy reform to deliver what investors value most: predictable, fair and risk-mitigated markets.
