As part of our ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire and bring lasting peace to the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, I met today with Olivier Nduhungirehe, Minister of foreign affairs of Rwanda. During our meeting, I emphasized that the territorial sovereignty and integrity of the DRC is essential and must be fully respected. I also stressed that there is no military solution to the conflict. Only political dialogue on its root causes can lead to sustainable, lasting peace. Therefore, we urge all parties to immediately pursue dialogue with all parties, following the road map of the merged Luanda/Nairobi processes and the conclusions of the recent AU PSC and EAC/SADC Summits.Kopírovat text
