Tomorrow at the EU Foreign Affairs Council, the serious humanitarian and security situation in Eastern DRC will be addressed. This is my stance: 🔵 We need an immediate ceasefire, a cessation of hostilities, and respect for the UN Charter and International Humanitarian Law. 🔵 I welcome African-led solutions, and it is my priority to support them. 🔵 The territorial integrity and sovereignty of the DRC must be respected. 🔵 There is no military solution to the conflict. Only political dialogue on the root causes of the conflict will lead to sustainable, lasting peace. 🔵 We plead for all parties to immediately pursue dialogue with all parties, following the road map of the merged Luanda/Nairobi processes and the conclusions of the recent AU PSC and EAC/SADC Summits.Kopírovat text
