The world is changing fast, and Europe must keep pace. While we are the largest donor of development aid, our economic and political influence is at risk. To stay ahead, we must redesign how we engage with our partners - moving beyond the old donor-recipient model to mutually beneficial partnerships. Our 🇪🇺 Global Gateway Strategy can help us to achieve this. We must focus on: ✅ Stronger private sector engagement ✅ Setting strategic priorities instead of trying to do everything everywhere ✅ Aligning investments with partners’ needs ✅ Team Europe mobilization for high-impact projects ✅ Leveraging private financial sector support Today, I have introduced my approach to EU ambassadors at a meeting stressing that we rely on them to be in our effort to advance the Global Gateway Strategy together.
