I welcome the progress Montenegro is making towards membership in the European Union. After years of stagnation, it is encouraging to see concrete steps forward in the enlargement process. The launch of work on the Accession Treaty, supported by EU leaders, represents a significant milestone. I see this as a clear confirmation that the EU’s open-door policy remains meaningful—provided that candidate countries continue to meet strict conditions, particularly in the areas of rule of law and democratic standards. Montenegro’s potential accession would not only recognize its progress, but also strengthen stability, security, and credibility across the Western Balkans and the European Union as a whole.Kopírovat text
