In a world of rising geopolitical competition, Europe must be strong, strategic and independent in its external action. That is why today we presented the Commission’s proposal for Global Europe, the EU’s external financing instrument under the next Multiannual Financial Framework. We propose a 75% increase to allow us act more strategically, give Europe predictability for long-term investments and the flexibility to act when crises hit strengthening our competitiveness, security and global role.
